Our living room is growing up! It's been a neglected space, more like a hallway than a place for people to actually relax and spend time visiting. However, now we have plans, sweet plans, and these are a few of our inspirations and influences....
This is the current state of our living room. I like bits and pieces, but overall it seems a little uninviting and disjointed, and a little too country. And the lamps are a total downer.
And this is my handsome accomplice...
slaving away to support this exciting endeavor :)

Harmony can be struck between the everyday and the gourmet, and even a busy home has the potential to be a place of inspiration and peace. As a young mother and wife to a hardworking husband in a powerhouse city, I'm often tempted to focus on the unglamorous aspects of ordinary life. But driven by the conviction that beauty is essential AND attainable, I'm making it my mission to seek out what is most beautiful, delicious, and inspiring in the everyday details. My goal is to share my aesthetic muses and the home design/culinary successes resulting from the inspirations...mixed in with a good dose of the delights of my everyday life.
I'm a mother and wife currently working in the design industry, as well as writing daily home-related articles for Apartment Therapy, and taking on free-lance interior design projects around the DC area.
