Nic in the spotlight once again

ok, so I'm thinking that my next blog should be titled, "Ode to Nicole" :). This month at apartment therapy we're focusing on artists so of course I asked her if I could feature her there once again. Here's the post, I'm so excited it about it.

Happy Birthday Nicole!

I intercepted Nicole for a birthday picture this morning, and I told her that I was going to title this shot "28 and hot," but she said something along the lines of "ha ha...don't, you're such a loser."

My husband jokes that in my eyes, Nicole can do no wrong, and I think he's probably right. I don't think I'll ever grow out of the role of the adoring little sister. I just can't fathom the thought of ever not thinking she's absolutely cool in every way...even being so close to 30:) Love you Nic!

June part 1

Ok, we're still in rewind mode. June was a lovely month, complete with a lovely college reunion of sorts at the Smith Farm...

The Eastern shore is so idyllic, made all the more beautiful with good friends, lots of babies, and of course a little rowdy flip cup.Thank you Smiths!

A Gorgeous Charleston Home

Yesterday I had the honor of featuring the most inspiring home on Apartment Therapy. The house as well as the story are AMAZING! Writing about design, I'm constantly coming across beautiful homes with lovely decor, but there is something distinctly different about this one. Karen, the mother and woman behind it, threw herself into designing this beautiful home for her family after her husband died unexpectedly. She has no background or experience in design, but was inspired to make a fun and functional home for her children.

Besides being gorgeous, livable and clutter-free (oh how I wish!) every detail is infused with meaning. I could ramble on and on and on about it, but I already did in the Apartment Therapy post, and you can check out the whole post and lots of pictures here.
